A Trip To "Sandy Beach"

July 08, 2013

This past weekend, my family and I headed out to 'Sandy Beach' on Greers Ferry Lake. It's a public 'beach' for enjoying the lake. It's right near the Marina and has a gorgeous view. There is sand, volleyball, picnic pavilions, and the water never gets too deep (which was perfect for Jack). It's really such a lovely family spot. We enjoyed spending a little time by the lake, driving through towns we don't normally visit, and viewing the lake's dam from an overlook.

It was a spur of the moment sort of trip, so we didn't stay very long. However, I'm determined to go back before the summer is over! It's the perfect place to spend a lake day if you don't know anyone with a house or a boat. Honestly, nothing beats doing a little local exploring. We found this beachy gem less than hour from us! Cool, right?

Have you done any local exploring lately?
